At the WG 2 meeting in Washington, DC, Bruce Bargmeyer and Kevin Keck introduced a new issue (for the Part 3 revision) that arises from the XMDR work to revise 11179 Part 2. The issue is about “directed relationships”. It is listed as Issue 136 in the standing issues document:

At the INCITS L8 meeting on December 8 & 9, 2004 this issue was discussed. There is general agreement about the proposed resolution. The discussion noted that there are other classes that are affected by the proposal. Kevin agreed to revise the diagram to show the other affected classes.
I have attached the revised proposal. There are three diagrams in 11179 Part 3 that are affected. The relevant parts of the original and revised versions are shown.
